Softbook Reader

Softbook Reader
   Conçu en 1998 par la société californienne Softbook Press, le Softbook Reader est le deuxième ebook (appareil de lecture) à voir le jour, peu après le Rocket eBook de la société NuvoMedia. Le Softbook Reader est commercialisé en 1999. Tout comme NuvoMedia, SoftBook Press est racheté par Gemstar-TV Guide International en janvier 2000. Le successeur du Softbook Reader est le modèle REB 1200 du Gemstar eBook, construit sous le label RCA (appartenant à Thomson Multimedia) et commercialisé entre novembre 2000 et juin 2003 aux Etats-Unis.
